"I did almost no shopping in Aruba, it wasn't intentional, I just wasn't interested in dropping a bunch of money on jewelry or Gucci, or disposable fashion like Zara, or gift shop type stuff like a shot glass with three dimensional boobs on it. I like tchotchkes, small art pieces, locally made stuff. This is exactly the sort of thing Purely specializes in. I was especially happy to find a piece depicting the desert landscape, which was my favorite part of the island. Prices are very reasonable and the pieces often come with information about the artists."

"Though you would never expect a local experience in the middle of a resort, this is the place to go for local Aruban artwork. We originally tried the local market thinking for sure that is where we would find handmade art but aside from a few stands, they are filled with Imported junk made in factories from overseas. Passing through the resort to the beach Purely Aruban Artwork caught our eye. Just a glance and you can tell everything is handmade locally and the items are just gorgeous. Having dealt in paintings before, the prices are very reasonable especially for original artwork. Back in the states, the cost of some of these would be the same just for prints. Definitely stop here where you can buy with the confidence of supporting a local artist."
